About the Research Group
The Carmichael Research Group is a dynamic, collaborative research group with diverse expertise that includes surface modification methods, stretchable electronic device fabrication and characterization, soft lithography, self-assembled monolayer characterization methods, and molecular junction studies. Funding comes from NSERC as well as a productive industrial partnership focused on practical applications of our research results. More information on the group is available at

Windsor and Essex County was recognized globally as one of the Smart 21 communities by the Intelligent Community Forum in both 2010 and 2011. In 2011, the region was further recognized as one of the Top 7 Most Intelligent Communities of the Year! The Intelligent Community Forum is a think tank that studies the economic and social development of the 21st Century community, based in New York, New York.
